Audemars Piguet Introduces the Royal Oak Automatic Flying Tourbillon "Dimpled Dial"
Creamy texture with frosting and dimples.reviews aaa quality watches
Arguably Audemars Piguet’s most important timepiece ever, the Royal Oak celebrated its 50th anniversary last year with a slew of new models, including the new Royal Oak “Jumbo” ref. 16202, and even a skeletonized self-winding flying tourbillon.
And just before the new year, Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak self-winding flying tourbillon 'dimple dial'. Essentially the same as the standard model, the new version – available in white or rose gold – is notable for its finishes: dimpled on the dial and brushed on the bezel.
initial thought I first heard of this discreet version when the image was shared with me. Since The Associated Press occasionally doesn't reveal what's dropped, the replica watches for men wasn't officially released but quietly added to its online catalog. Although understated, this new edition is sure to appeal to anyone who loves the Royal Oak but wants a special dial for added oomph.
At first glance, this watch is easily striking. The layout and style are familiar, but some tweaks to the dial and case make it stand out. Refreshingly, the traditional micro-check guilloche – the distinctive checkerboard pattern that helps define the Royal Oak collection – is replaced by a matte, debossed pattern. The textured dial adds a touch of quirky elegance to the iconic design.
I do hope that in time this dimpled dial will be incorporated into other models, although hoping for a stainless steel version of it may be in vain.
The Turn of the Flying Tourbillon The new Royal Oak Tourbillon is characterized by its sunken dial, blue in white gold and brown in rose gold. Unlike the typical geometric guilloche that is synonymous with Royal Oak, the dimpled texture is subtle and slightly artisanal in appearance, and the metallic finish catches the light.Jacob & Co. A notable difference between it and the standard guilloché dial is the logo at 12 o'clock. Here it's printed on the dial rather than an applique, which is a result of the dial's texture, making it a different height in different positions, making the applique unfeasible. The printed logo appears to be less prominent than the applied metal logo, a slight tweak that makes the textured, metallic finish of the dial more apparent.
Also unusual is the combination of finishes for the exterior components. The case and bracelet are brushed and polished as is customary for Royal Oaks, while the bezel has a hammered 'brushed' finish. This is the first time AP has combined a traditional finish with the newer "frosted" technology.
The “brushed” bezel is created by hammering its face with a sharp diamond-tipped burin knife, creating tiny dimples that create a grainy surface that shimmers slightly at a distance.replica Breitling Premier Heritage
Other than the stylistic changes, this is the same as the standard Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon. The 18k gold case measures 41mm in diameter and 10.6mm in height with solid gold hands and indexes.
At six o'clock is the flying tourbillon regulator, which takes its name from the fact that it is only fixed on the lower pivot, while the upper pivot "flies". This eliminates the need for a tourbillon bridge, leaving nothing to obscure the tourbillon cage.
The movement is still calibrated in-house. 2950, which is an automatic movement that first appeared in the Code 11.59 Tourbillon but now appears in several Royal Oak models.top luxury copy watches
